Welcome to the 10th annual Camano Island Studio Tour, happening May 9-10-11, 2008. Hours are 10 am - 6 pm on Friday and Saturday, 10 am - 5 pm on Sunday. Always on Mother's Day weekend, ours is a free, self-guided tour for art collectors, art lovers and anyone who appreciates the visual arts. The Tour takes place in historic Stanwood and on beautiful Camano Island. A special favorite for families, bringing home a unique piece of art is a memory never forgotten.
Celebrating our tenth anniversary, the Studio Tour has become north Puget Sound's most popular art-related experience. Perhaps it's the amazing variety of art to be seen, perhaps it's artists in action, works in progress, or "working" studios reflecting each artist's personality and work environment. It's often the exclusive opportunity to get to know personally the artist whose work you admire.
Thirty-five studios and galleries on the Tour feature artists proficient in oils, watercolor, acrylics, pastels and mixed media, sculptors working in metals, clay and stone, glass artists specializing in fused or blown glass and textile artisans. Other mediums include jewelry, photography, fine woodworking and even whimsical and dramatic garden art.
To see ALL of the Tour, you might plan to stay overnight at one of the Island's outstanding B&Bs, or at a convenient motor inn in nearby Smokey Point or Arlington. Dine at a special restaurant, or pick up a box lunch at one of the markets and snack along the way. If you're not on our mailing list and want to receive the current brochure, email rhondasdesign@verizon.net or call 425 - 231-7236, leaving your name, mailing address, phone number and/or email. We welcome your comments and suggestions at any time.
