Gateway Gallery – MAP

CAA is excited to announce that selected Stanwood High School visual art students will be exhibiting at the Gateway Gallery from April 26 to June 8. Expected artworks include glass and ceramic objects and painting, drawing and photography. During the 5 days of the Camano Island Studio Tour starting on May 10, CAA President, Amy Bush will also be in the Gateway showing her demi-fine jewelry.

This opportunity was arranged by Camano Arts Association’s MAP (Mentor Assistance Program), an initiative of CAA that bolsters art education in the Stanwood-Camano School District by providing access to CAA artists, as well as art supplies beyond the reach of current budgets. These programs support CAA’s vision to enrich the lives and culture of the greater community through visual arts. This exhibition for the students will be the first opportunity offered to show their work in a professional setting and to learn how to prepare work for a gallery.

OPENING RECEPTION – Join the Stanwood High School students for the opening of their first professional exhibition at the Gateway Gallery on Saturday, April 26, from 4 to 6 pm. The event will feature a musical ensemble from SHS, along with a delightful selection of hors d’oeuvres and sparkling beverages. Visitors can explore an impressive collection of stained, fused, and mosaic glass, ceramics, photography, painting, and drawing. The Mentor Assistance Program (MAP) provided support and guidance to students and teachers in organizing this event, aligning with CAA’s mission to enrich the community through visual arts.
