Sea Glass Float Scavenger Hunt and Scoop | March 23rd – 28th

The Greater Freeland Sea Float Scoop is a one-of-a-kind community event bringing fun, friendly competition, and a little bit of island adventure to Freeland Park!

Hosted by the Greater Freeland Chamber of Commerce and our friends at Callahan’s FireHouse, this exciting event invites participants to scavenge and hunt for hundreds of specialty, handcrafted glass Sea Floats, custom made by Callahan’s FireHouse just for this event! Best of all? It’s completely FREE to participate and attend!

Here’s How It Works

The main event (The Sea Float Scoop) takes place on Saturday, March 28th at Freeland Park! 

Participants will have the opportunity to scavenge and hunt for hundreds of specialty, handcrafted glass Sea Floats made by Callahan’s FireHouse! On event day, Freeland Park & Beach will open for participants during three special one-hour waves:

First Wave at 10:00am | Second Wave at 11:15 | Third Wave at 12:30pm

As the tide goes out, even more shoreline and hidden spaces will be revealed — meaning each wave offers new opportunities to explore and discover! In between waves, volunteers will hide hundreds of floats… but they won’t be easy to spot. If you’re observant, and a little lucky, you just might head home with one of these beautiful handcrafted treasures! 

A Few Important Event Guidelines

• Participants may join as many waves as they would like!
• However, each participant is eligible to win only one Sea Float per person.
• No one is guaranteed to find a float — so keep your eyes sharp and your competitive spirit high!
• Sea Floats will be hidden within clearly marked event boundaries.
• All participants must follow event staff instructions and safety guidelines.
• This is a family-friendly event — all ages are welcome!

The Quest Begins Early… Sea Float Scavenger Hunt!! (March 23-27)

Before the main event officially begins, we’re kicking things off with a special Pre-Event Scavenger Hunt throughout the greater Freeland area! For five days leading up to the main event, we’ll be sharing out 10 total clues (2 per day) on our social media channels. Each clue will guide you closer to hidden handcrafted glass Wish Stones placed around Freeland. (March 23-27)

This is your chance to test your questing instincts, sharpen your float-finding skills, and build some excitement before the big day.

Here’s how it works:

1) Follow our social media accounts: Facebook and Instagram
2) Watch for two new clues posted each day. 
3) Use the clues to track down hidden glass Wishing Stones.
4) If you find one, bring it to our Freeland Chamber office (5575 S Harbor Ave Suite 101, Freeland, WA 98249) to claim a special prizes and Sea Floats!
