Colleen Nygard is a Pacific Northwest artist, author, and illustrator based on Camano Island, Washington.  While she had to ‘retire’ ten years ago with a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis, Colleen has chosen to focus on the positives- like having freed up LOTS more time to paint- and she has never been happier!

Colleen’s art style is a beautiful blend of painterly realism and impressionism, primarily focusing on acrylic and watercolor paintings. Her artwork demonstrates her skill at capturing both quiet, peaceful moments and the vivid joyfulness of a sunny flower garden.

Colleen is also a published author and illustrator.  Space Chicken is a tall tale of a chicken who dreams of going to the Moon. Her second children’s book, Roxy and Ameraucana Joe is a silly story of new friends and crazy adventures and will be available exclusively during Tour 2026.
