We are happy to announce the new Gateway Gallery Co-Managers, Colleen Nygard and Holly Stafford. Colleen and Holly will be sharing the many responsibilities of the Gateway Gallery effective immediately.
Colleen Nygard is a self-taught acrylic artist who has been a part of the Stanwood Camano art scene for more than the past 10 years. She loves to paint the landscapes, trees and flowers of the PNW. Colleen became a CAA Studio Tour Artist in 2023, 2024, 2026 and looks forward every year to opening her home each year in May. Initially a member of the Stanwood Camano Art Guild, Colleen showed her work at the Gilded Gallery. Between 2017 and 2022 she served as a member of their BOD, as Secretary, and then as President for the Guild.
She is currently a member of the CAA BOD and led the fundraising efforts for Giving Tuesday through the annual SCGive campaign in 2025 and will repeat that role for 2026.
In her new role as co-manager of the Gateway Gallery, Colleen is most looking forward to continuing to encourage young artists in our community and promoting the Materials of Art Program through CAA which provides supplemental art supplies to students in the Stanwood Camano School District.
Holly Stafford is local NW artist living on Camano Island and a newer CAA member, being with our group just under 2 years. Holly currently creates/edits the CAA Member Bulletin each month and will continue to do so moving forward. She also teaches art for the Meyer Art Center and Stanwood Elementary. She has shown her work in various shows and galleries in Snohomish, Skagit and King Counites and was previously a member of the Arts of Snohomish artist co-op where she held the positions of Vice President and Marketing.
She graduated from the Art Institute of Seattle with a degree in Visual Communications and her background includes Graphic Design, Publishing Management, MacIntosh Trainer, Art Instruction and project management.
As a new gallery co-manager, Holly is excited to encourage FUN and involvement with our amazing art community, connecting with the residents and visitors to our island, enriching our world one artist at a time!
Look for upcoming opportunities and events in the new year as these two artist powerhouses get going!!
